Valentine’s Day card Instagram sale

February 4, 2014 | Leave a comment

There are always a couple cards I set aside for small flaws. Maybe there’s a small spot that shouldn’t be there, or the color is slightly off, or it folded a little crooked. But this is good for you bargain hunters. Because I’m having an Instagram sale for my Valentine’s Day cards, and guess what — they’re all ONE dollar. And we’ll have some of our most popular designs. So make sure you follow me on Instagram at @RLPCo by Wednesday, Feb. 5. Sale starts at 8 p.m. EST.

But wait! There’s more! If you’re on Instagram, just follow me and share this image with the hashtag #RLPCosale and you’ll be entered to win a $25 gift card to our shop!

If you’re looking at this post on your phone and you’re not sure how to share the image, here’s a post on how to repost a photo on Instagram.

So. See you Wednesday at 8, right?

THIS: Bringing social media to paper

December 13, 2013 | Leave a comment

Most of us these days spend a good bit of time using social media. And whether it’s Twitter or Instagram, we keep seeing the same phrases again and again. But it made me giggle to think about putting those words on paper and sending cards like you would a tweet. I hope it makes you giggle too.

social media/blogger stationery

This set is now available in the shop! Maybe I’m a teeny bit biased, but I think they’d be great sticking out of the stockings of your social media-loving friends for Christmas.

Which is why I’m teaming up with my friend Kait at CommuniKait.com to give you AND a friend a set! Just head on over to her blog to enter!

Time’s running short to get your holiday cards out to your friends and family! If you’re not sure how to personalize them for the recipients, here are a few ideas on what to write inside your Christmas cards.

I have an announcement (and a giveaway)

July 31, 2013 | 3 Comments

I’ve been keeping a secret for a few weeks now. We wanted to make sure everything was set and that all the right people knew first before making this announcement, so here it is, finally …

Are we there yet?

moving to seattle

(Hey, just be glad I didn’t say “we’ve been trying for three years,” ‘cuz that’d be true, too.)

As you know, we made the huge leap from NYC to Santa Fe last summer. But while the opportunity presented itself here and we jumped, we’d been thinking about Seattle for a while. A long while. And we miss being in a city. So we’ve decided to go for it and head west again to The Emerald City. We move at the end of August.

Here’s the deal. I’ve got a lot of cards in stock I’d love to not move, so for the next few weeks, I’ll be offering multiple discounts and giveaways. I’m starting today with a one-day-only Christmas in July August giveaway, and the winner will get one of each of our Christmas cards — that’s a set of 20+ — and will include some out-of-print designs! To enter, just 1) follow me @RLPCo on Instagram and 2) share the picture below on Instagram and tag #RLPCoChristmas. Winner will be announced Friday.

christmas in august

If you’re not on Instagram, don’t worry. I’ll be doing more specials on other networks, too. Follow me on Twitter or Facebook to stay in the know, or sign up for the newsletter, which has awesome free perks of its own, like two printable cards.

Where would you live if you could live anywhere? Here’s hoping Seattle will be just the “home” we’re been looking for.

Birthday cards

April 2, 2012 | 3 Comments

When I first got started with RLPCo, I thought I wouldn’t do birthday cards, ’cause, well, there’s about a gazillion of them out there. But sometimes you get an idea, and you just gotta run with it. So guess what? We’re doing birthday cards.

The first one I debuted a few weeks ago. It’s an extension of our {not sent from my iPhone} line.

Birthday Card - Not sent from my iPhone

The second one I’ve been sitting on for a couple weeks months. My own birthday is now a month away, so I thought maybe this would be a good time to put this one out there and see what you guys think. I love the concept, but I just can’t figure out the right finishing touch. Here’s what I’ve got…

Facebook birthday card by RedLetterPaperCo

Fun, right? But I don’t love that text in the box. It seems … grouchy. So I’m pulling out everybody’s favorite fill-in-the-blank-and-win-a-free-card game. Submit your ideas for clever text to go inside the box, and if I choose yours, I will send you a free copy of this card (or any one you want). All you have to do is leave a comment on this post with your suggestion(s). Simple as that. Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!

The fine print: By submitting your ideas, you agree that Red Letter Paper Company can use them for this or any item, and there will be no payment for current or future use of submissions. We reserve the right to not use any submissions, in which case a winner for a free card will be chosen at random from the commenters. If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to email us.

Easter Card clearance + giveaway

March 14, 2012 | 2 Comments

Recently on my Facebook page I said I had a bunch of extra Easter cards I need to clear out, and I asked if you’d prefer a sale or a giveaway.

You said both … so I’m here to give you both!

easter cards

From now until midnight on Thursday, March 22, my three designs of Easter cards are HALF. OFF. Yeah, like 50 PERCENT. Pretty sweet, right? Gotta get these babies out the door and make room for new stuff! Each card is priced at $2 (plus shipping). If you want more than are currently listed in the shop, just shoot me an email or an Etsy message and I will gladly add a few more. ‘Cause I got plenty of them.

So how do you enter the giveaway? Simple. Buy a card. (Yeah, it’s totally manipulation. But they’re HALF OFF!) Each Easter card purchased will count as one entry. As you check out, in the “notes to seller,” type HAPPY EASTER, and you’ll be entered. That’s it!

Vanna, can you show them what they’ll win?

Love is patient love is kind green 5x7 art print

So two lucky winners will each be getting this original RLPCo artwork, printed on acid-free, 100% cotton high quality photo rag fine art paper in vivid color that will last years and years. Ready to frame and enjoy!

So: Buy a card. Enter to win. That’s it. Happy less-than-a-month-till Easter!

Is there a smartphone Bible verse?

September 16, 2011 | 8 Comments

I’ve got a new card coming out soon and I have to say, I might be biased, but I think it’s awesome. The only problem is that sometimes, mixing a modern reference on the front of a card with a supposedly corresponding Bible verse on the back can be a bit tricky.

That’s where you come in. I need your help to figure out a verse. Ready to see the card?

Yeah?

Sure?

Ok, here it is.

Genius, right? I can’t tell you how many emails I get that end with “sent from my iPhone” or “sent from my BlackBerry” or “” (which, yes, will all also be available!). This tongue-in-cheek card states the obvious in a minimalist design and can be sent for an occasion or anytime just because.

But it’s my MO to put a corresponding Bible verse on the back of my cards. So the question is, what verse goes with smartphones? Do you have any ingenious ideas? Post your ideas in the comments here, and if I decide to use your suggestion, I’ll even send you one of these cards for free. Pretty sure we’re not gonna get a literal verse, so be creative and think outside the box!

I’m SO excited about this card, I really want to get it out there soon! So let’s see what ya got!

Anniversary giveaway

August 4, 2011 | 19 Comments

Sunday, Aug. 7 is the one-year anniversary of the day RLPCo went live! There was a lot of preparation work done for months in advance, but that’s the day we opened shop and started a great new venture that has been fun and inspiring and challenging and a million other things.

To celebrate, I thought maybe I’d give away a little something. In fact, I’m giving away a couple somethings. And you can enter starting now through Monday!

Giveaway 1: This 4×6 framed art print shares its design with one of our most popular cards. Welcome people into your home (or, uh, to your desk) by reminding them not only where they stand, but where they remain. It’s not a card in a frame, this is 100% archival, acid-free ink printed on Hot Press Watercolor paper and signed on the back by yours truly. The frame is ready to hang on the wall or can stand on its own.

Giveaway 2: Choose any TWO free cards of your choice!

Giveaway 3: $5 gift certificate to RLPCo’s Etsy shop.

Ready to enter? Here’s how. (I’ll draw three winners at midnight Monday!)
